Perdomo Worldwide Acquires Historic Salem Glassworks Site in Salem, New Jersey
March 3, 2026
Salem, NJ – Perdomo Worldwide has completed the acquisition of the historic Salem Glassworks property at 83 Griffith Street in Salem, marking a significant investment in the revitalization of manufacturing and mixed-use development in South Jersey.
The more than 28-acre site includes over 500,000 square feet of warehouse and industrial space. The property was acquired earlier this month, with the transaction facilitated by Max Spann Real Estate and Auction Company.
The site, long known as Salem Glass Works, served as a cornerstone of South Jersey’s industrial economy for more than 150 years. Originally operating as Salem Glass Works from 1895 to 1934, the facility later housed Anchor Cap and Closure Corp., Anchor Hocking Glass, and Anchor Glass before being sold to Ardagh Group. The plant ultimately ceased operations in 2014.
The expansive industrial complex includes existing warehouse and manufacturing buildings, along with critical infrastructure such as a rail spur, positioning the site for future manufacturing and distribution operations.
“After roughly a year of evaluating the opportunity to invest in South Jersey, Perdomo Worldwide has entered into contract to purchase over 500,000 square feet of warehousing on this Salem site,” said Orlando Perdomo, Founder of Perdomo Worldwide. “Our vision is to help bring manufacturing back to Salem County while also exploring opportunities for thoughtful mixed-use residential development that supports long-term economic growth.”
The City of Salem’s designation as an Opportunity Zone further enhances the redevelopment potential, offering tax incentives designed to attract investment and stimulate job creation.
Perdomo Worldwide’s acquisition reflects the firm’s continued commitment to revitalizing underutilized industrial assets and fostering sustainable economic development throughout the region.
