Salem City, NJ — Perdomo Worldwide is pleased to announce the acquisition of the former Ardagh Glass Plant, a landmark industrial facility located in Salem City, New Jersey. Originally established in 1863, the plant has a rich history spanning over 150 years and encompasses approximately 800,000 square feet of manufacturing space.

At its peak, the plant employed 290 workers and served as a major economic driver for Salem City and the surrounding region. Known for many years as Anchor Glass, the facility became part of the Ardagh Group following a significant transaction in 2012 valued at $880 million. The plant ceased operations in 2014, leaving a notable industrial footprint and legacy.

In 2025, Perdomo Worldwide acquired the property as part of its ongoing strategy of Risk Liability Transfer (RLT), specializing in the purchase and redevelopment of complex industrial properties with environmental and financial liabilities. This acquisition underscores Perdomo’s commitment to managing challenging assets while unlocking future potential.

“The Ardagh Glass Plant holds a special place in Salem City’s history,” said a spokesperson for Perdomo Worldwide. “While future uses for the site are still under evaluation, we are optimistic about its potential to support new industrial, commercial, or mixed-use development that can once again bring economic value to the community.”

Perdomo Worldwide’s expertise in environmental remediation, property redevelopment, and risk management positions it uniquely to navigate the complexities of this historic site. The company plans to collaborate closely with local stakeholders as it explores sustainable redevelopment opportunities that honor the site’s legacy while paving the way for future growth.
