Perdomo Worldwide Acquires Grand Tower Energy Center to Support Future Industrial Growth in Southern Illinois
Jackson County, IL — Perdomo Worldwide, in partnership with Espinosa Investments, is proud to announce the acquisition of the Grand Tower Energy Center, a key gas-fired power facility located in Jackson County, Illinois. With a generation capacity of 640.9 megawatts and an annual net output of over 1,000,621 megawatt hours (MWh), the Grand Tower Energy Center plays a vital role in supporting regional energy needs.
As part of Perdomo Worldwide’s long-term vision, the site will undergo strategic upgrades to support future industrial development, including large-scale data centers and advanced manufacturing operations. To ensure sufficient power delivery and grid reliability, Perdomo Worldwide is planning to integrate three new substations at 346 kV, 136 kV, and 69 kV. These additions will provide robust infrastructure capable of handling high-demand users while opening the door for future growth in the region.
In parallel, Perdomo of NY—a division of Perdomo Worldwide—is leading demolition efforts to clear legacy structures on the site. This work marks the first phase of a comprehensive redevelopment strategy aimed at transforming the Grand Tower Energy Center into a hub for modern industrial activity.
In addition to its energy contributions, the Grand Tower Energy Center currently reports annual CO2 equivalent emissions of approximately 487,627 metric tons, a figure Perdomo Worldwide aims to manage responsibly through efficiency improvements and sustainable development practices.
